Killer Panel Power-Up

Conditions & scope for panel replacements and (when needed) service upgrades—built for modern electrical loads like EV chargers, heat pumps, additions, and safer capacity.

Quick Summary

Killer Panel Power-Up replaces or upgrades your panel to safely support today's electrical demands. The final scope depends on your existing panel type, service equipment, meter location, grounding/bonding needs, and utility requirements (DTE or local co-op).

Good fit if you have…

  • Overcrowded panel / not enough spaces
  • Warm breakers, flickering, nuisance tripping
  • Federal Pacific / Zinsco / unsafe legacy equipment
  • Upcoming EV charger, heat pump, addition, hot tub
  • Insurance or inspection pressure

What you can expect

  • Load planning + clean circuit labeling
  • Grounding & bonding corrections (as required)
  • Permit + inspection coordination
  • Utility coordination when needed

Conditions & Scope

Last updated: January 20, 2026

1. What the Panel Power-Up Includes

Unless otherwise stated in your signed proposal, the Panel Power-Up typically includes:

  • Panel replacement or upgrade (sized to the approved scope and load plan)
  • Replacement of breakers as required for the new panel
  • Cleanup and organization of existing branch circuit terminations (within practical limits)
  • Clear circuit labeling and homeowner walkthrough
  • Grounding & bonding corrections required for permit approval (within scope)
  • Permit application and inspection coordination with the local AHJ

2. Panel Upgrade vs. Service Upgrade

A panel replacement does not automatically mean the service is being upgraded. Service upgrades may require changes to meter equipment, service entrance conductors, disconnects, grounding, and utility coordination. Your proposal will state whether your project is a panel-only replacement or a service upgrade.

3. Utility Coordination (DTE / Co-op)

  • Utility coordination may be required for service upgrades, meter changes, or service entrance work.
  • Scheduling depends on the utility provider's availability and processes.
  • Some projects require a utility work request and may extend timelines beyond our direct control.

4. What Is Not Included

  • Wall/finish repair, drywall/plaster patching, painting
  • Masonry/concrete cutting, major carpentry, or structural modifications
  • Service relocation unless included in proposal
  • Trenching, long exterior conduit runs, or major reroutes
  • Correcting all pre-existing wiring defects throughout the home (quoted separately if needed)
  • Whole-home rewiring (separate scope)

5. Existing Wiring Conditions

If unsafe conditions are discovered that affect safe panel replacement or inspection approval, we will present options and pricing before proceeding.

6. Pricing: What Changes the Final Cost

  • Hidden damage (water intrusion, rusted meter sockets, deteriorated service components)
  • Non-compliant existing wiring that must be corrected for inspection approval
  • Utility or AHJ requirements that differ from typical installations
  • Customer-requested scope expansion (EV circuit, generator interlock, surge protection)
  • Access complications (tight spaces, finished basements, asbestos/lead concerns)

7. Inspection-Ready Guarantee

Work performed under the approved scope will be installed in a code-compliant manner and will pass inspection. If an inspection identifies a deficiency in our installed work (within scope), we will correct it at no additional labor charge.

8. Acceptance of Terms

By scheduling or authorizing the Panel Power-Up, the customer acknowledges and agrees to these conditions and scope terms.
